Description
Inspector Walter Day and Sergeant Nevil Hammersmith, of Scotland Yard's new Murder Squad, and forensics inspector Dr. Bernard Kingsley are sent to a coal mining village in the 'Black Country' to investigate a prominent family's disappearance. An eyeball has been discovered in a bird's nest, and the local constable fears the worst. As the inspectors get deeper into their investigation, they soon realize what lies beneath the surface ot the mining town, and they may never be allowed to leave.
