Description
Avis Douglass and her husband, Peter, have dreamed of a two-year mission to South Africa but are uncertain about leaving family and church responsibilities behind. When one of the co-pastors of SouledOut Community Church passes away suddenly, Avis and Peter are asked to serve as interim pastors. They put their trip on hold indefinitely to meet the needs of their church, but the change creates an all-black church leadership that raises racial issues in their multicultural church. Meanwhile, Avis has difficulty dealing with Kat, an impetuous new member of the congregation, although she and Kat will soon find that each has something to contribute to the other.
