Yanagi can heal the wounded and perhaps stay inevitable death. Now it's up to Recca to protect his vulnerable charge from a deadly kidnapping plot. Further complicating matters, he's been told that his latest mission will result in his demise. It's a matter of life and death for Recca and his pals Domon and Fuko. If eternal life is a possibility, why must someone sacrifice his - or her - life to achieve it?

Battle-weary Recca faces an opponent known as "The Invincible One" and wonders how he can defeat an indestructible enemy who has an aresenal of human souls to command.

Recca and crew race to find the Tendo Jigoku in a spooky cave before their nemesis Mori can get to it first. When the group splits up, things go from bad to worse and Domon and Fuko end up battling to the death with two warriors that have beaten them before.

Recca's Team Hokage has its hands full in the final round of the assassin's tournament, facing a warrior who feels no pain and a swordsman with a fearsome slice. Recca even has to take on his own dragon!

Recca's friend Fuko smashes her opponent soon after their battle begins and finds that she has been fighting a machine. The girl controlling it scratches Fuko with a poisonous metal claw, leaving Fuko only five minutes to live.

Recca and Kurei face one another in the final, decisive battle in the deadly assassins' tournament. Both are worn down from the fight, but manage to unleash simultaneous blows that destroy the coliseum.

Deep within the network of caves, Recca and crew reunite in front of the gate that leads to the Tendo Jigoku. There, they must fight an enemy that can read their minds; the practically mindless Domon takes up the challenge. Meanwhile, Fuko squares off against a strange opponent with a soul-sucking pot.

Gaoh conjures up a rock monster the size of a mountain. Will Kaoru be squashed flat under its feet? Or will Gaoh's hunger for vengeance turn out to be weaker than his hunger for chocolate? Either way, Recca and his friends are running out of time, as Yanagi's last remaining memories of Recca are about to be wiped away!
